Color burst comes to Kroc Center Construction

As seasonal changes bring out fall colors to local neighborhoods, the Kroc Center is also experiencing a change of colors. Actually, it might be described as an explosion of color compared to the gray tones of concrete and steel previously seen. A bright turquoise coating is being applied to the masonry walls to provide a waterproofing membrane. The wooden beams supporting many of the unique roof structures are being stained a golden hue. Newly planted grass is adding a deep green color to the sports field and playground area. DeSantis Landscapes is nearly finished with Phase I of the field landscaping which includes trees, scrubs, grass and irrigation. This month, the chapel/performing arts theater and the skeletal framework of the north side community wing are the focus of construction on the site. Work continues on the gymnasium shell which now has a roof, floor and masonry walls. The shell structure housing the pool areas is nearly complete and work recently started on excavation of the recreation pool and water slide. Footings supporting the water slide are also in place. Excavation for both pools is scheduled to be completed in November. Contractor LCG Pence reported the first shipment of Myrtha Pool components has arrived. The Myrtha Pool is manufactured in Italy.
